What happens after you send a request
A guide on Barb texts you from their own number; a guide not on Barb yet gets an email, and Barb tells you what they say.

A guide on Barb
Ask Barb, for example "Is Saturday open for 2?" For a guide on Barb, it checks their open times and seats. It doesn't hold or book anything.
Once you send it, the guide's own Barb texts you from their number, so there's nothing to look up or copy. Reply to it to book. It writes once, then waits for your reply. At night (9 PM to 8 AM your time), it waits until morning.

Barb: Sent to Madison Drift. Their Barb just texted you from (406) 555-0101. Reply there to book.
Barb: Hi Sam, I'm Barb, Madison Drift's automated assistant. I got your Barb Outdoors request: a fishing trip for 2, Jun 14. Reply to book. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Already texting with that guide's Barb? It picks up in the same thread instead. If you wrote by email, the guide's Barb emails you once instead. Reply there to keep going.
A guide not on Barb yet
On their page, Request to book writes the request for you: see Request to book a guide who isn't on Barb yet.
Barb emails the business that a client asked for your trip, without your name or contact. The guide has a few days to answer. Barb texts you as soon as it hears, in your daytime (8 AM to 9 PM), and at most four updates a day.

Barb: Bridger Outfitters isn't on Barb yet, so I'm inviting them to join Barb, free, so they can answer your request (I don't share your name or contact). I'll tell you when they answer, or in a few days if they don't.
Barb: Good news: Bridger Outfitters is on Barb now. Their Barb texted you from (406) 555-0188. Reply there to book.
- If they sign up, their Barb texts you to book.
- If they don't answer in about four days, Barb tells you and offers other guides. If they answer within two weeks, Barb still sends them your request and lets you know.
If it doesn't work out
When a guide can't take your trip (no answer, no openings, or Barb can't reach them), Barb offers up to three other guides for the same activity nearby, guides on Barb first, never one you said no to. It asks with the same SEND question.
Barb: Madison Drift has no open times for your dates. Want me to look for other guides?
Client: Yes
Barb: Want me to send your request to these guides? 1. Gallatin Fly Co. 2. Bridger Outfitters (not on Barb yet) Each one you choose gets your name, how to reach you, and this: Sam R., 2 people, Jun 14 to Jun 15. A guide marked "not on Barb yet" gets an email about the trip first, without your name or contact, and the rest only if they sign up. They (or Barb for them) may text or email you about this trip, from their own number. I'll tell you here how it goes. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply SEND for all of them, or the numbers you want (like 1 or 1 and 3).
