Program

Barb Outdoors texts, from Barbed.ai LLC: help finding and booking an outdoor guide, sent from Barb Outdoors' number, (206) 466-3434. Booking texts you turn on when you book on a guide's page come from that guide's Barb number instead (see Booking texts from a guide's page, below).

How you opt in

You text our number first (from "Message to start" on barboutdoors.com, "Want to book a guide?" on barbed.ai, or on your own). We never text anyone who hasn't texted us first. Texting us is never a condition of any purchase. You must be 18 or older.

What we send

• Answers to your questions, and guides who fit your trip.
• A question, in fixed words, asking whether to send your request to the guides you picked, and what each will get. Reply SEND (or the numbers of the guides you want) to send it. A no, or no reply, sends nothing.
• Updates about your requests: where each went, and later whether a guide answered, couldn't take it, or is on Barb now, with an offer of other guides when one couldn't. Updates go out between 8am and 9pm your time, at most 4 a day, counting any offer.

When you agree to send a request to a guide on Barb, their Barb assistant texts you once about that request from the guide's own Barb number (or emails you once, if you wrote to us by email), then nothing more until you reply. It never texts you between 9pm and 8am your time: a request sent at night waits until morning. Once you reply, it may text you about that trip, and after a trip it may send you a link to review it. Those texts are the guide's, under Barb's SMS terms (barbed.ai/sms-terms); a STOP there stops that guide's texts.

Booking texts from a guide's page (Book now)

Some guides on Barb take bookings right on their page here (Book now). If you give a US or Canadian mobile number there and check the box to receive texts about your booking, you agree to recurring automated texts about that booking from the guide's business, sent by Barb (the guide's booking assistant, also run by Barbed.ai LLC) from that guide's own Barb number, never ours. They can include:

• Your booking confirmation and answers to your questions about the trip.
• Payment requests and confirmations, a reminder of the deadline to pay a deposit, and a notice if unpaid seats are released.
• Trip details, the meeting point, reminders, and schedule changes.
• Follow-ups after the trip, such as a link to tip your guide or review the trip.

The box is off until you check it, and checking it is never a condition of booking: leave it off and your booking updates go to the email you gave. Message frequency varies with your booking. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any of those texts to stop texts from that guide's number (updates you still need, such as word that unpaid seats were released, may then go to your email), START to turn them back on, and HELP for help. Barb's own SMS terms (barbed.ai/sms-terms) also apply to those texts.

A second box, if the guide offers it, asks for texts about their future trips and openings. It's separate, off until you check it, and never needed to book. If you check it, Barb texts you a description of those texts, and you agree only by replying TRIPS. The guide may then send you automated marketing texts, up to 4 a month. Reply STOP to opt out.

Booking on a guide's page never signs you up for texts from Barb Outdoors' number.

How often

Message frequency varies with how much you write to us: a few texts while you're looking, then the occasional update about your requests (at most 4 a day).

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Ask your wireless carrier about your plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any text from us. We'll confirm, and send nothing more from this number; your open requests are called off. Reply START to turn texts back on.

Carriers

Supported on all major US carriers. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your phone number and messages are used only to help you find and book a guide. Mobile information and text opt-in data are never shared, sold, or rented to anyone for marketing. Your name, number, and request go only to the guides you choose, and only after you say yes. See the privacy policy.
